Stay center-biased

Don't chase the ball to the walls. Holding near the middle keeps every angle reachable — the corners are where lazy points get lost.

Watch the ball, not your paddle

Your paddle is in your peripheral vision; the ball is the information. Eyes on the ball, always.

Use the paddle edge deliberately
