Jurassic Theft is a free retro-style platform game with a delightfully deranged premise: you're a mad professor who's traveled back to the Jurassic period to steal dinosaur eggs for his own theme park. Morally questionable? Absolutely. Fun? Also yes.

Your job is to collect every egg you can find while staying alive in a world that very much wants to eat you. It runs straight in the browser — no download, no sign-up — and works on desktop and mobile.

The Premise, and Why It Works

Egg-stealing as a game loop is quietly brilliant. It gives you a clear objective (grab the eggs), a clear risk (the dinosaurs guarding them), and a natural difficulty curve — the further you push into a level, the more prehistoric trouble stands between you and the exit.

And the trouble is varied. The hazards aren't just reskinned copies of each other:

• Velociraptors patrol the ground, so timing your runs past them is a rhythm you have to learn.
• The Mosasaurus owns the water — cross its pond carelessly and you're done.
• Pterodactyls rule the sky and punish you when you least expect it.
• A giant T-rex stomps around the level, and no, you cannot fight it. Run.

Different threats in different lanes (ground, water, air) means you're constantly reading the whole screen, not just the next platform.

How to Play Jurassic Theft

Collecting the eggs

Every level is about gathering the eggs scattered across it. Some sit on easy platforms; others are placed exactly where a raptor patrols or a pterodactyl swoops. The level design tells you what it wants from you — greed costs lives.

Staying alive

You control the professor, and you are very much not the apex predator here. The correct strategy is patience: watch each dinosaur's pattern, then move in the gap. Speed-running players die a lot. Careful players finish levels.

Reading the level

Before you rush anywhere, take two seconds to see where the eggs are and which hazards sit between you and them. A mental route saves three deaths.

Respect the water

The Mosasaurus makes water crossings a commitment, not a shortcut. Plan where you'll surface before you jump in.

The T-rex is not a puzzle to solve

You don't beat it. You avoid it. Treat its part of the map as "later, when I know the route" territory on your first pass through a level.

Use your jumps honestly

Don't edge-of-platform hedge — commit. Half jumps lead to half landings, and half landings lead to raptors.
